Sherri Sanjurjo is a strong young black-hispanic woman filled with compassion for her people and an energy that will not quit. The majority of her poetry is to motivate those who hear her to embrace the "spirit of togetherness". Sherri's heart for love, peace and freedom to reign amongst minority groups is seen throughout most of what she does. Currently she directs a community youth choir and volunteers her time to non-profit organisations in efforts to implement positive solutions for young men.

Sherri is in the studio working on two separate projects, her own spoken word joint, and a gospel CD. She writes all of her own songs and hopes it to be a CD that inspires people to be accurately and emphatically exactly who they have been created to be. She has been performing spoken word since 2002 and she has been singing ever since she can remember. While music is her first passion, the love of poetry and the flow of words runs a close second. Sherri has appeared in principal roles in "Soul Food" the series and the "Natalie Cole Story". She is the proud mother of 3 beautiful children whom she calls 'bundles of blessings' and currently is pursuing her career in Marketing.

Sherri has been working on a book for the last 2 years. It is autobiographical in nature, but mixed and mirrored with spoken word poetry throughout the book. Look out for "A Metamorphosis of a Young Woman". It is sure to be hot. When approached to be a part of the Love, Peace and Freedom: Increase the Peace CD, she never hesitated. Sherri's heart is in the Love, Peace and Freedom project and it is her dream to see everyone at peace, in love and living life to the fullest because they know that they are free. Sherri says, "I pray that everyone that hears each and every spoken word, would look into themselves and listen to the truth, The Truth is closer than we think and if we are willing to embrace The Truth, we will most definitely experience, love peace and freedom......blessings."
