Since 1993, Dwayne Morgan, has built a name for himself locally and internationally as a spoken word artist, and producer of spoken word and live entertainment events through Up From The Roots Entertainment. Dwayne has written two chapbooks, two full length books, and has produced 2 audio recordings, winning the 2001 Urban Music Award for Best Spoken Word Recording. Dwayne is the recipient of the 1998 Harry Jerome Award and the 1998 African Canadian Achievement Award. Dwayne is a member of the Canadian League of Poets and has opened for Mutabaruka, Saul Williams, Ursula Rucker, and author Colin Channer.
