School Or Group Visits
Please invite us to your group or school for one of three purposes:
1. A poetry performance, on our Love, Peace and Freedom tour (and discussion or question-period, if requested). Our performances are clean and educational, perfect for youth at the high school or college/university level. Toronto Poets' visits usually consist of at least three Toronto Poets performing almost an hour's worth of poetry in total, and a question period afterwards, all depending upon how much time we are allotted. We can provide a written transcript of the poetry to be performed or our audio CD if it is required by your school or group's administration to approve of a visit. Email Toronto Poets at info@torontopoets.com for more information or to book a performance.
2. A poetry workshop, in which we teach your group of any age age-appropriate lessons about writing and performing different forms of poetry, including getting them to actually write and perform poetry and to learn and have fun doing-so. Email Toronto Poets at info@torontopoets.com for more information or to book a performance.
3. A Club Genesis Clinic, in which we go through a seven-step process with youth, teaching them how to start a successful club, which they can eventually turn into a partnership or corporation, like we did. Clubs formed around a positive objective, like the club that the Toronto Poets corporation developed out of (with the purpose of using poetry to increase the peace), offer youth the same sense of family, brotherhood and belonging, that gangs can, without the negative aspects. We encourage youth to form clubs to cater to their dreams of becoming actors, directors, visual or performing artists, academics or any other positive aspiration they have...so they start believing they can realize their dreams. Email Toronto Poets at info@torontopoets.com for more information or to book a Club Genesis Clinic.
